About

Day Hefner is the pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Schuyler, NE.  A graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Day is especially interested in bilingual ministry development.  She has been active in ministry and activism with immigrants and refugees in her home state of Nebraska, as well as in Chicago, New Mexico, and Texas.  Day is particularly known for her boisterous laugh, her big heart, and her abiding love for cheese.  She also has a degree in music, loves cats, and is an avid crafter.
