What are you wondering about church, faith, spirituality, life, death, etc. these days? I know many of us carry some kind of religious trauma, often from being part of religious communities where we weren’t allowed to ask questions, where questioning what we were taught was considered dangerous or unfaithful. Or perhaps you have questions that you’re too nervous or embarrassed to ask your own pastor, or that you worry will be offensive. Or maybe you’re just curious about this odd vocation!
Whatever your question, ask me. Whether you’re a churchy person or not makes no difference to me. You and your questions are welcome here, and I will do my best to give your earnest questions an earnest answer.
Obviously, I may not have a good answer for everything. I’m just a regular person like you, and I speak from my own particular perspective, which is steeped in my experience and preparation as a Lutheran theologian. But I have studied and spent a lot of time thinking about these things. And I am willing to venture with you into the territory of doubt, to engage and wrestle with the questions you bring, to hopefully help you find clarity.
Please enter your info and your question below. Your personal info will only be seen by me, but you may use a pseudonym rather than your name if you wish (I literally have no way of knowing either way). I will give you a response via email, and may reach out to you for clarification if I’m not sure I understand your question or to get a bit more context on where your question is coming from.
