I meant to post this back in November. On Sunday, November 10th, I made my final oblation as an Oblate of St. Benedict. I wrote this song for the occasion.
Song text below:
Oblation
God, our creator, author of life
We gather before you in our joy, and in our strife
You meet us as we are, for your love knows no bounds
Lord, we ask for your presence, here, with us nowWe bow before you and humbly, we pray
Accept the oblation we offer you today
OoohJesus, Redeemer, you make all things new
You restore us and lead us, so we learn to live like you
In your blood and body, you offer us grace
That we may, in your children, meet you face to faceWe bow before you and humbly, we pray
Accept the oblation we offer you today
OoohSpirit, Sustainer, you make our hearts strong
And you give us the courage to keep singing the song
Grant us the wisdom that comes from above,
Fill our hearts with your fire, and inspire us to loveWe bow before you and humbly, we pray
Accept the oblation we offer you today
OoohWe bow before you and humbly, we pray
Accept the oblation we offer you today
Oooh
