It’s the Most Fatphobic Time of the Year — a little new year’s carol

🎼 (to the tune of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”)

It’s the most fatphobic time of the year;
there are tons of junk diets,
folks saying, “just try it,
so you’ll disappear!”
It’s the most fatphobic time of the year!

It’s the fat-hating-est season of all;
with eyes already rolling
from the concern-trolling
from one and from all,
It’s the fat-hating-est season of all!

There’ll be bodies for shaming
and bad habit blaming
and unsubtle comments galore;
there’ll be much food-policing
and Weight-Watchers fleecing
poor, insecure folks by the score!

It’s the most fatphobic time of the year.
Let’s all stop instigating
this needless self-hating
and baseless fat fear!
It’s the most fatphobic time,
It’s the most fatphobic time,
It’s the most fatphobic time of the year!
